FOCUS
When Charles SGHS as a new principal debt rose, he came to a school with a population at high risk, low test scores, discipline problems and high teacher turnover. It was not an easy place to teach, and every year, 50-60 teachers wanted out.
However, the main-Rose had a vision and plan. With a background as a football coach, he was as persistent man with outstanding leadership qualities known and had a strong desire to make a difference in SGHS. It uses the professional development (PD) to give teachers common goals as the first step towards his vision of a family atmosphere, where administrators, teachers and students to provide support to each other and pull together.
SOLUTION
When Garland found and implemented in their schools ISD PD 360, primary Rose acknowledged that the resource has been adapted to his plan and ran with it. He saw that the students do not come to school with the educational tools they need to learn new skills and teachers to engage students and a greater awareness of their needs. When students are employed and their individual needs are met, will build trust and develop relationships.
“I knew a good example of evolution happening in our school for a classroom walk-in was the teacher of the old school of learning. The tables were in straight rows and the students listened to the teacher.”
“Next time I attended the same class, the teachers were differentiated by PD 360 was learning lessons, and it was an entirely different scene. Desks were arranged in groups and students have participated in the discussion. Students could show their groups, where they were and where they go with the topic. “- Charles Rose, director of the South Garland High School, TX
